Our refund point operators are a passionate bunch and perhaps none more so than owner/operator of The Exchange Shed, Megan Lever. Based in Jimboomba in Brisbane’s south, Megan first started The Exchange Shed in 2019 and she says making connections with people is her favourite thing about being part of Containers for Change. It’s not just the customers that bring a smile to Megan’s face every day, but her staff as well, many who have been with her since the start.
Team work makes the dream work
“I get to see people’s smiling faces all day, every day, whether that’s my staff or my customers and that makes it all worthwhile” – Megan Lever.

Helping community, helping environment and her staff make running a refund point so rewarding for Megan, evident in the many regulars that return to the depot to cash in their containers. While Megan and her team help recycle millions of containers every year, it’s being able to give back to the community that Megan finds most fulfilling.
Giving back to community
Megan and her team regularly donate food and supplies as well as encourage container donations to Rosies, Friends on the Street.
