That’s exactly what Donation Points are making possible across Queensland!

Through a partnership between Containers for Change and P&Cs Queensland, Donation Points give school communities an easy way to turn recycling into ongoing fundraising - without adding extra workload for volunteers.

What exactly is a Donation Point?

A Donation Point is a secure Containers for Change bag drop installed in an externally accessible area on school grounds.

It’s designed for everyone - parents, neighbours and local residents - to use at any time. Instead of claiming the 10-cent refund themselves, people can donate their eligible containers, with the full refund going directly to the school’s P&C.

Because the Donation Point face the street, there’s no need to enter the school grounds to use them. This makes them part of wider community rather than just the school. For many, it’s as easy as dropping off containers during the school run or on the way to work!

Behind the scenes, the Donation Points are professionally installed and serviced, coordinated through P&C Queensland and local Containers for Change operators. Schools don’t have to manage collections or handle containers themselves; the system is designed to tick along in the background!

Bringing a Donation Point to your school

State schools in South East Queensland can register their interest in hosting a Donation Point by submitting an Expression of Interest through P&Cs Queensland.

Submitting an EOI doesn’t lock a school into the program, it’s simply a way to start the conversation!
