Becoming a donation point is an easy and effective way to raise much-needed funds for your organisation. Every eligible container your supporters collect and donate to your organisation earns you 10 cents for your cause.

Simply sign up for a scheme ID on behalf of your organisation to get started. Be sure to use a generic email address and not your own. This is important as you won’t be able to change email addresses once your account is set up and your email address is securely linked to your nominated bank account. Using a generic email address means that even if personnel change you still have access to your scheme ID and fundraising stream.

If you’ve got the space, you can also be a physical donation point. Just set up a secure cage or bin where supporters can drop off their containers. You’ll also need to arrange for the containers to be delivered to a refund point, which you can do yourself or partner with your local refund point operator who may be able to do this for you. The refund point will do all the sorting and counting, and deposit your refund directly into your organisation’s nominated bank account by EFT using your scheme ID.

If you don’t have the space for a container bin or cage, just stick to fundraising through your scheme ID. Simply share your organisation's scheme ID with your supporters. They can return eligible containers to any refund point across the state and donate to your organisation by quoting your scheme ID. Your supporters’ donations are then deposited directly into your bank account via your scheme ID.
